- Eat regular balanced meals, starting with breakfast. Try not to miss meals.
- Sit down to eat, and take time to chew and really taste and savour your meals.
- Drink at least 6 - 8 glasses or cups of fluid daily, but limit caffeine-containing (tea, coffee, cola) and fizzy drinks, and enjoy more water.
- Include some whole grain breads and cereals, and at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables daily
- Make wise snack choices - try fruit, low fat yogurt, whole grain
crackers and light soft cheese, vegetable soup, handful of dried fruit, nuts
and seeds. - Try a daily probiotic drink or yogurt that contains live 'friendly' bacteria.
- If you are overweight, combining healthy eating with regular physical activity to reach a healthier weight can help indigestion. Exercise is a great stress beater too.
